Hanging Yourself For A Persona

I have this trait that I am trying to kick. It’s like the ropes dangle right in front of me and instead of turning around and walking away, I walk right up to them and wrap them straight around my neck. It’s like I doubt myself and look for the answers everywhere else, but who am I kidding? When the person who knows me best is myself.
